An Open Letter to Lady Gaga, on seeing that she has held a Seance.

Lady Gaga

Dear Lady Gaga,

We have not corresponded before but hopefully in the future you will look back upon this moment as the beginning of a long and fruitful professional relationship.

Have you ever imagined the sight of a bill for ghostbusting services which has the letters F O C* printed on it and felt like “Oh my God! Why didn’t I hire this wonderful man before now?” For this is the service which I, Alex Sumner, Prophet of the Age of Capricorn, Ascended Master, and all-round expert on all things Occult can provide! In fact I will start right now by proffering some advice on seeing that you have recently held a Seance whilst on tour in Ireland.

Firstly, the good news. The spirit you refer to as Ryan is unlikely to be the soul of an actual dead person in torment upon this Earthly plane. Generally speaking, the souls of dead people only hang around the material plane up to few days after their physical passing, whilst the remaining ties which bind them here are themselves dissolving. Thereupon they depart for the after-life in the usual manner.

Moreover, mediums do not generally contact dead people even though they purport to do so, because the person’s soul has long since ceased to be in a position to provide useful information. If they are collecting accurate information about a person’s life it is likely that they are reading it off the Akashic Records. NB: don’t expect a spirit to provide more information than it would have known whilst alive, and beware of any supposed spirit which purports to do so. There is a saying in the Occult: “Just because you are dead does not make you more intelligent.” This sounds so obvious but often people who go to consult mediums tend to forget it.

The bad news however is that it may very well be that Ryan is a genuine “thing” of some description. It might be some sort of negative entity or elemental which you have attracted to yourself because of emotional trouble. Like a Bad Romance for example! (Heh, see what I did there?) This is not the end of the world however as there are various ways to get rid of it, e.g. the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, or in extreme cases some of the techniques which I describe in my blog-posts about Vampires (see here and here). Furthermore, one can reinforce this by actively attracting positive and beneficial influences (see, e.g. here).

There is a remote, and I stress the word remote possibility that it is a real entity sent by someone nasty: however this is unlikely to be the case. The vast majority of people complaining about being psychically attacked by someone else are in fact nothing of the sort – if anything they are just severe cases of people attracting bad influences on themselves, in the manner I describe above. In any event, remedies such as the LBRP etc should be more than enough to protect you.

By now you should be reading these lines and becoming more and more fascinated with the idea of hiring the services which only I can provide. You will be pleased to know that you can contact me further to discuss hiring me. Hope the tour goes well,

Love,

Alex.

*NB: I may have said F O C but this applies only to my ghost-busting efforts. I still charge expenses!

Cosmic Music – reminds me of Lenny Henry

Me? Embarassed about that Lenny Henry remark? I signed Jedward 4fs!

Following on from a story I reported on several months ago that scientists had recorded the music of the Sun, it turns out they have been applying similar techniques to other stars, including one with the catch name of KIC 11026764. For publicity purposes this has been bigged up as a “star’s song,” but it would be more accurate to say it is more of an ambient drone of the kind that Brian Eno might come up with. As soon as I read this this article I thought: “KIC 11026764! Of course, it’s so obvious! I mean, as if anyone wants to hear what more famous stars like Regulus or Aldebaran sound like.”

Anyway – it certainly beats listening to X Factor.

All Saints Day

“Dressed in hooded gowns, women were seen standing in a circle around a cauldron while ritualistic acts were conducted.” Shock! Horror!

A news report in the Daily Mail has criticised the BBC for devoting time to paganism on Halloween. Note that this is the Daily Mail, of which I have had choice words to say in the past.Just in case my comment conveniently gets lost in the ether, I shall repost it here:

Halloween is not a Christian festival. *All Saints Day” (November 1st) is, so is *All Souls Day* (November 2nd). Indeed the latter is in fact the Christian version of Samhain – i.e. the true Samhain, not the crassly commercialised entity known as Halloween.

The fact is that both Christians and Pagans used the end of October / beginning of November for the same purpose – honouring the souls of departed loved ones.

I say let the pagans have their air-time on 31st October – as long as the Christians can have their air-time on November 1st. Criticising the BBC for lack of Christian coverage on Samhain itself is premature. Only if the Christians don’t get coverage on All Saints Day can one begin to complain that they are being marginalised by the BBC.

Telepathy: Alex’ predictions come true!

More news today that machine-assisted telepathy is advancing apace, with research indicating that it is possible to move a cursor about a screen by the power of thought. Alas, invasive surgery is required – similar to a story I highlighted on this blog a short while ago. It seems however there has been an attempt to create a gaming device on the market for some years now, using non-invasive means, although it does require a lot of work to calibrate it when first setting up:

But hang on a sec! This EPOC thingumajig was first put on the market in 2008 – but it is only this year that that scientists have gotten round to testing machine-assisted telepathy using controlled double-blinded peer-reviewed experiments. That means that for two years Emotiv have got away with marketing a device that has not been subjected to clinical trials. Let’s hope the FDA don’t wake up to this – Wilhelm Reich was thrown into prison for less.

Druids: Melanie Philips has had a great idea!

All those pagans have been bashing Melanie Philips of the Daily Mail for writing a bigoted ill-researched piece of drivel about Druidry last week, but the fact is that she actually came with a good idea amongst her nonsensical ramblings.

I refer to her suggestion of having “Stones of Praise” as a Television programme.

Just imagine – in all seriousness – what such a programme would involve. It would be half an hour of a load of pagans having a good old sing-song, intercut with short interviews of individual pagans showing what they get up to in their daily lives, the kind of work they get up to, etc. We could have featured guest musicians in each programme, such as Julian Cope, Ian Read, Damh The Bard, etc.

I think this would actually be quite fun! Quick – call the BBC! 🙂

Druids Hand In Petition

Druids, led by "King Arthur Pendragon," hand in a petition to the Daily Mail today.

OK I have been scouring the news websites for details of how it went at lunch-time, but there seems to be silence so far. Here however is the delegation in London.

Daily Mail insults Druids

Nazi Propaganda rag the Daily Mail has published a highly offensive article about Druidry being classed as a religion by the UK Charity Commission. I was going to lay into its author about her grasp of theological concepts, but I perceived the tone of the article to be of such moronic stupidity that I am not going to bother.

Instead – I note that a load of Druids have started a petition to demand an apology from the Daily Mail. I have signed it, and I cheerfully invite all my readers to do likewise. Please click here.

But What Occult Book Was Rihanna Reading?

Rihanna, Occult Temptress

Your up to the minute commentator on almost all things pop music has heard news that Rihanna is apparently into The Occult. Apparently the hospitality rider for her latest gig said that backstage must be all decked out in black, with black candles everywhere (always a give away!). But most tellingly of all she was actually seen (apparently) reading a book on the occult. However – no news report says what it was.

So, I am asking you, the readers of my blog to please supply the answer should you know. I am curious to know just how bad the Good Girl Gone Bad has really gone.

Women Are Free To Have Sex In English Cathedrals

Good news for women in England today, as well as for those into sacred sexuality! A woman is allowed to have sex in the grounds of an English Cathedral – this is the ruling of a court in Cambridgeshire.

There is one fly in the ointment though – a man will still be prosecuted for it.

In a news report today, a couple were found having sex in the grounds of Ely Cathedral. They were caught and arrested by the police – but only the man was prosecuted at the local magistrate’s court. He was convicted and fined £130, but more seriously he presumably will now be registered as a sex-offender. The woman however was not prosecuted at all!

Now I could say that it would be good to see more women exploiting their new found privileges and perhaps test to see how far the law goes – but that would obviously be crass and out of place. Instead I find it a happy day that, two thousand years after the blatantly hypocritical predicament of the Woman Taken In Adultery, we have now reversed the position so that it is the man who gets a public stoning instead. Hooray for the end of the outrageous sexism that characterised the Piscean Age! 😉

Burn Da Herb, Not Da Quran

Burn Da Herb, Not Da Quran

So there I was, reading this story about this guy in Florida who says he is going to burn 200 copies of the Quran on the anniversary of the September 11th bombings this Saturday – in protest. This has of course brought world wide protest from just about everyone, Christian, Muslim and others, world leaders, and even General Petraeus who is concerned about the safety of his troops in Afghanistan.

I thought to myself – surely there must be something better to burn than the Quran? Obviously not one of the world’s Holy Books … aha – the Sacred Herb of Rastafarianism – Ganja! That is meant to be burnt! And, what is more, instead of stirring up hatred and discord, the act of burning Ganja will do the exact opposite. Result!

First I thought this was just a flippant idea, but then I thought this would be a good way to start an international peace movement. I have therefore founded a Facebook Group: Burn Da Herb, Not Da Quran, so that people can register their support.

I invite you all to click on the above link to join, and why not invite your friends to join as well? Thanks! 🙂
